Daniel Reid is a journalism graduate from Ryerson University in Toronto.
He joined the Ottawa Region Media Group as a reporter with the Kemptville Advance/Weekender in 2005, moving to the Kanata Kourier-Standard in 2006.
Before he got his start at a real newspaper, he was the editor-in-chief of a fake one – an online satire, fake news magazine.
In 2008, Daniel was nominated for best series in the Metroland Editorial Awards.
